The family of Katherine Winnifred Hazel Palmer (Skau) is saddened to announce her passing on Sept 5 2022.
Kathy was brought lovingly into this world in Calgary on May 2, 1936, with her parents Dorothy and Peter Skau. Kathy Graduated from Olds Agricultural College after High School.
She married Charlie Palmer in Oct 23, 1959. Charlie and Kathy took in multiple foster children over the years.
Kathy lost her hearing at a young age, but she did not let her disability stop her from living a very full life including running multiple businesses over the years. Kathy was an avid sewer, ceramic maker, cake decorator, crafter, photographer and loved to teach others these skills through private lessons and as a 4-H leader.
Kathy loved working at Walmart in Brooks for many years – she managed to spend most of her days organizing and stocking the craft section, which was her happy place.
She is lovingly remembered by her family Fran Mortensen, Pat Duckett, Carolynn Nielsen, Suzy Nielsen (Shaun),Gabrielle, Courtney, Loralee Bell(Scot), Kayla Bell(Aidan), Casey Bell, Mason Bell, Wayne Mortensen(Wanda), Julie McNamara(Dustin) Marley, Lochlyn , Jody Lethbridge(Tyler) Emry, Macy, Mike Duckett, Rhett Duckett, Amy Cross(Scott), Rachel Cross, Ryan Cross, Dawn Hawkins(George), Will Ripka(Terra) Caius, Jaelyn, Mattea, Bailee, and Jonas .
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 13 @ 2:00 at the Pioneer Damisters Drop In Centre 321, 1 Ave Bassano, AB. Kathy will be laid to rest in a private family interment at the Bassano Cemetery.
