Pozzo – Charlie (Chuck) Ernest Pozzo of Brooks, beloved husband of Stella Pozzo, passed away in Brooks on Tuesday, February 10th, 2015 at the age of 87 years. Chuck was born in Drumheller, Alberta on September 3rd, 1927 to Quinto and Marcella Pozzo, the youngest of nine children, and grew up in Drumheller. Chuck came to Brooks to play baseball and then started work at the Brooks Hospital as a “Steam Engineer” where he worked for over thirty-five years before retiring. He married Stella Dyck on October 4th, 1952 in Drumheller. Chuck loved hunting, fishing, camping, curling, gardening and baseball. He was a member of the Legion for most of his life. The flower beds were planted and maintained by Chuck at the old hospital and were loved by everyone for their beauty. Chuck not only played baseball, but went on to coach teams of all ages and enjoyed going to various towns to compete. He enjoyed curling and attending bonspiels with many prizes and trophies throughout his house. Chuck was predeceased by a daughter, Laurie Ann Pozzo, son-in-law Bobby Brodie and his faithful companion “Toto”, who was always at his side. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Stella of 62 years; daughter Jan and her husband Dan Mills of Brooks, son Chuck Pozzo and his wife Terry of Coaldale, son Dean Pozzo of Salmo, BC, daughter Kelly Jo Brodie and her husband Ian Shorey of Brooks; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Marg Pozzo of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 13th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Interment followed held at Brooks Cemetery.
