(October 27, 1988 – September 25, 2017) – Troy Robert Preston of Brooks, beloved son of Andrew and Michelle, passed away peacefully at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary on September 25, 2017 at the age 28. Troy was born in Brooks and went to school at Eastbrook, Tilley School, and graduated from Brooks Composite High School. He worked at several local businesses, but always found his way back to his dad’s business, which was his calling. Troy always had the biggest heart, helping family or friends with anything he could. Troy’s love for the outdoors started when he was younger, with camping, fishing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. This passion grew to hunting when he met his two brothers-in-law. Troy’s passion for life was outstanding. His smile and personality would bring light and happiness to the darkest of days. Left to remember Troy are his parents: Andrew and Michelle Preston, sisters: Amanda (Joe), Krisy Therriault (Dustin), Mellissa Allaby (Will), and Alexis. Troy was a superhero to his 4 nieces: Keira, Ellie, Rayna, and Rylnn. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts: Gord Preston, Ron and Peggy Preston, Reg Preston, Darryl Preston, Mike and Denise Harmon; and by “Gramps” Robert Preston of Brooks and Caryl Preston of Hanna. He will also be remembered by his special friend Myranda, along with numerous cousins, friends, and other relatives. Troy was predeceased by his grandma Pat Harmon (2011), Grandpa Harmon (2015), and Uncle Joel (2012). Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 30 at Thom’s Funeral Home and Reception Centre in Duchess.
