1921 to 2007
Katie Romney, nee Penner passed away in Grande Prairie on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Katie was born in Orenburg, Russia and immigrated to Canada in 1926 with her family. She will be sadly missed by her Son, Robert (Teresa) and Daughter Carolyn (Gary), and her brothers John (Hilda), Dick (Elsie) and Sister Mimi Neufeld, one grandson Chris (Taylor) and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Tom in 1977, sisters Anne and Hilda, brothers Peter, and Henry. A special thank you to the staff at Grande Prairie Care Centre for all their care over the past year. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
