LAYNE SCOTT WILSON – November 18, 1940, to November 12, 2021
Layne Scott Wilson went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, in his own home with his loving family around him.
Layne was born, the sixth of twelve children, in Warrenville, Illinois. At the age of 12 he moved to Embarrass, Minnesota. Basketball, fishing, and hunting were hobbies he enjoyed. He attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis and took various mathematical courses at the University.
He was employed at 3M in 1962, and later in several departments with Thermoelectric Systems. When Thermoelectric Technology was sold, Layne moved to Bassano, Alberta, Canada, where he finished out his years as a manager for Global Thermoelectric Power Systems and Skill Metal Fabrications.
Layne considered it a privilege to teach children reading skills, and adults the course, English as a Second Language, in Bassano. Many hours there were also spent fixing vehicles and volunteering as a driver.
Layne is survived by his wife, Mary June (Myklebust) Wilson, daughter Hollie Hernandez (husband Ventura) and son Cody Wilson (wife Sarah). He was blessed with eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Layne is also survived by a large extended family of six brothers, their wives, children, and grandchildren and by his four sisters, their husbands, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott David Wilson; brother, Marvin Wilson; grandchildren, Jordan and Leah Buckley; as well as his father, Clark Wilson, and mother, Edna (Sommerville) Wilson.
