It is with loving memories, but sad hearts, the family of Mabel Sybil Rooke of Brooks, beloved wife of Bill Rooke, announces her passing in Brooks on Monday, November 24th, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Mabel was born on February 19th, 1926 in Cabin Lake, Alberta. Mom cherished her family and friends with her entire heart, her strong prairie roots inspired her love of gardening, cooking, sewing, curling, a great love of animals and a multitude of other activates. Mom was hardworking and dedicated to the business that she and dad built together, Bill Rooke Trucking Ltd. She had an adventurous spirit and was game to try anything. Mom and dad’s retirement was filed with travels and adventures, which were the fruits of their labour. She was a long standing member of W.I. and the Eastern Star. Mom was a founding member of the Multiple Sclerosis/Parkinson’s Society in Brooks. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. Mabel was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Ruth Gray, her siblings Doug Gray (Ardis), Jean McKeage (Jay), Marjorie Lukey, David Gray (Verda), nephew Wade Lukey, son-in-law Brad Gardner, and grandson Jordan Gardner. Mom is survived by, Bill, her loving and devoted husband of 65 years; three daughters, Terrie Hager and her husband Ron, Lynn Gardner and Colleen Davidson and her husband Keith; seven grandchildren, Tyler Hager, Kelsey Tremblay and her husband Lorne, and Tyson Hager, Haley Buddlecombe and her husband Kyle, Quinn Gardner and his fiancé Jori Jesperson, Kyle and Logan Davidson; 3 great grandchildren, Brooklyn and McKinley Tremblay and Edward Hager, and soon to be baby girl Biddlecombe; brother-in-law Len Lukey and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 29th at 11:00 AM from St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Brooks. Rev. Ken Wells officiating.
