ELAINE MAXINE PRICE of Lethbridge passed away peacefully with her family around her at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the age of 76 years.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Susan (Marlin) Howg of Lethbridge, Tammy (Grant) Bexson of Blackfalds and Shane Price of Brooks; grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved deeply, Cole, Grace, Hunter, Harper, Shyana, Bayley Carrie, Craig, Meysyn, Ashlyn, Tristen and Breaden; sister-In-law, Rose Norman and family, Aunt Vera and family as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Aake and Florence Norman, brothers Gerald and Vic Norman and father of her children, George Price.

Our mom was very hardworking. She worked for 25 years at the Brooks IGA in the meat department, at Brooks Tom Boy and earlier at George’s Meat Market in Strathmore where her and dad owned their own business. She also loved working at the Crystal Cafe and The Starlight.  Mom loved people and enjoyed nine years as a greeter at the Lethbridge Wal-Mart. Her love of people carried on for the rest of her life as many still kept in touch. She was known as “Grandma Laine”, “mom” and “grandma” to many of our childhood friends, grandchildren and co-workers.

She had a heart of gold and made everyone feel like they were the only one in the room. She had a love for all animals but especially cats and dogs. She was an incredible mother who raised three kids to be kind, hardworking and empathetic. She loved her grandchildren and made every family gathering extra special, smothering us with gifts and love. She was a fabulous cook and some of her family favourite dishes were Swiss steak, macaroni and cheese and cabbage rolls.

    She will be deeply missed.

Our family would like to sincerely thank staff at The View, Lethbridge Home Care, and the staff and doctors at the Chinook Regional Hospital for all of their care and support during this most difficult time.

We will have a celebration of life service in Brooks during the spring when more details will be announced.
