Dick was born in Bassano, Alberta on November 6, 1929 and passed away at Strathmore, Alberta on May 3, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Dick was predeceased by his parents Albert and Ada Schindeler. His is survived by his loving wife Jarmila (Jerri); son Al (Tracy); grandchildren Candi, James, and Cody; great granddaughter Emma and Paige; four brothers, Bill (Peggy), Gerald (Gwen), Nelson, and Doug (Rhondda), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dick attended school at Clancy and completed High School in Brooks. He went to SAIT taking welding, also NAIT taking gas fitting and pipe fitter. He operated Dick’s Welding from 1952 to 1978. Dick was employed at the Eastern Irrigation District until he retired in 1994. Dick served on the board of the Scandia Museum and the Brooks Museum. He was involved at St. Alban’s Anglican Church with garage sales and other activities. Dick was a life member with the Pioneer Acres Plowmen and Threshermen’s Club at Irricana.
