Sketch released of suspect
Brooks RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the man accused of an indecent act last month. Sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 28, as two students walked through a back alley in the South Shore area a man in a blue or green Alberta licence plated van drove up and committed an indecent act. The man is believed to be between the ages of 18 and 25, Caucasian, scruffy but not with a full beard, wearing a black hat, a black hoodie, sunglasses and light blue pants. Garin powers Bandits to teddy bear toss victory
In what could best be described as a dominant performance, the Brooks Bandits picked up their 20th win of the season with an 8-1 stomping of the Olds Grizzlys last Tuesday night. Goaltender Mitchel Benson recorded 18 saves and six different Bandits scored to extend the Bandits winning streak to four games. The Bandits have only given up four goals over that span. Brooks struck first just 2:26 into the game, as captain Dennis Cesana took what seemed like a harmless shot from the top of the right circle that handcuffed Grizzly goaltender Andrew Henderson to make it 1-0.

Area students learning on a full stomach
A provincial nutrition program is ensuring youngsters at schools like Holy Family Academy can start their day with something to eat. Each school district was given funding from the province and the district then identified the needs of schools. As a result, Christ the Redeemer School Division gave the school $64,000. The program is coordinated by Katelynn Keenan and made possible at Holy Family Academy with the support of numerous parent volunteers. Keenan became involved in supplying nutritious foods last year when she and another parent saw a need.
