Hale joins PCs
Strathmore-Brooks MLA Jason Hale is now a member of Alberta’s Progressive Conservative Party. On Dec. 17 Hale, Wildrose leader Danielle Smith and seven colleagues walked away from the Wildrose Party, en masse, to unify with the Conservatives, leaving five members behind. “It’s a unification of conservatives. Not a merger,” Hale insists. “I think this is very good for Alberta. I do. I honestly do,” he said following Thursday’s announcement.

Seized rifles part of ongoing police investigation
RCMP in Brooks arrested two men and seized weapons following a complaint of damages to a sign near Duchess. During the afternoon of Dec. 18 police were dispatched to a rural location southwest of the village where they arrested two men.

Cross fit program a hit with Christ the King students
A Cross fit class offered by teacher Olivia Liboiron has turned out to be a hit with Christ the King grade eight students. She describes Cross fit as functional movement that individuals do in everyday life such as squatting or dead lifting. Dead lifting relates to knowing how to properly pick objects off the ground without causing an injury.
