New oil transfer terminal possible
A new transloading terminal is being considered for the eastern edge of the county 10 kilometres southeast of Tilley. The existing Tilley terminal, which opened in April 2012, is run by Torq Transloading. At the site heavy crude oil is transferred from truck to rail for transport.

Local teams medal at 1A provincials
The Rosemary Rockets and Bassano Broncos ended their volleyball seasons on high notes Saturday by winning provincial medals. The Rockets earned silver medals in the 1A tournament played at Bassano while the Broncos picked up bronze medals. The silver medal winning Rockets was comprised of Matt Easter, Kameron Klassen, Emerson Pankratz, Adam Peters, James Peters, Tanner Pitcher, Colin Unruh and Lorne Walde. “We had a fantastic season,” said coach Ben Dyck.

Retiring bank manager will remain active in Brooks
A long career with financil institutions will come to an end this week for Scotiabank manager Henry Zdun. Having been employed for 55 years in one form or another, he said it was just time to retire. “I have had fun. I have seen a lot of changes and I have enjoyed it, primarily with the clients.” Over the years he has been offered positions in different departments with the Scotiabank where he would not have as much contact with customers but they are what attracted him to banking. He likes meeting and helping people on a daily basis.
