Villa 3 seniors fed up with no working elevator
It had been nearly three weeks since resident Gertie Gray had been off the third floor of Villa 3 of her seniors housing villa. Until last week, the facility’s elevator had been out of commission for 18 days straight, says residents. “To be honest, it really broke down on September 1 and it hasn’t been operating for three full days since,” says fellow resident Julie Turnbull. Turnbull says she, like most of the other residents, is fed up. “Four flights of stairs? With groceries? Laundry?”

Duchess girls return home with banner
The Duchess Eagles intermediate girls volleyball team has had a very successful season this year, winning gold in the Bassano and Three Hills tournaments, silver medals in Rosemary and third in Duchess and third in the Grasslands league finals. The team ended the season winning the South Central Zone Junior High JJ Girls Volleyball Championship and bringing home a banner for the Duchess School.
