    Williams – Dorothy Jean Williams of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Gerald Williams, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at the age of 79 years. Dorothy was born in Medicine Hat on March 30th, 1938 to George and Emma Kessler. She grew up in Medicine Hat and attended Elm Street School. Dorothy married Gerald Williams on May 11th, 1963 in Medicine Hat. They moved around in their first few years of marriage until settling in Brooks. Dorothy had a variety of jobs, one of her first being an usher at the Astra Theatre in Medicine Hat. She loved to crochet and knit and made slippers for many family and friends, as well as donated items she created to different fundraisers and charities around Brooks. Dorothy’s family and friends will fondly remember her for her amazing cooking and baking, strudels being a family favorite. She was generous with her treats, sharing them with family and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald, parents Emma and George Kessler and her siblings, Lydia, Albin, Ruben, Florence, Ben, Ed and Irene. She is survived by her sons; Michael Williams and his wife Trina of Brooks and Neil Williams and his wife Tricia of Duchess; granddaughter Amber Skiffington and her husband Travis; great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Tennyson; siblings, Marion, Victoria and Annabelle; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 25th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. In memory of Dorothy, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to Brooks Animal Protection Society, Box 86, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B2.

    Cremation is entrusted to Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematorium, Brooks.
