    WATTS – Donald Gordon Watts, beloved husband of the late Nellie Anna Watts (nee Mitchell) faithfully completed life to join her for eternity on May 28, 2006. Donnie was born October 5, 1911 in Namaka, AB, the fourth of eight children of Carman and Mary Watts. As a young man he worked on ranches and farms until he became famous for his mechanical abilities which then became his life’s work. Donnie spent many years as “The Baler Man” at the Duchess garage. Donnie and Nellie raised their family in Duchess and later moved to Claresholm where Donnie was the maintenance man at the Safeway Shelter System factory until his retirement. Over the years Donnie served his Lord in the fellowship at Duchess Mennonite Church and the Faith Community Church in Claresholm. His godly life and wisdom were a blessing to all who knew him. Left to miss their dad are six surviving children: Ramona (Corne) Plett; and Judy (Ron) Friesen of Lethbridge, AB, Irma (Dan) Salzmann of Creston, BC, Ethel (Lloyd) Watts, Carman (Bonnie) Watts, Pauline (Ross) Allsop of Lethbridge, AB, 17 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren, two surviving siblings, Ivy Bogstie of Gleichen, AB and Rueben (Dorothy) Watts of London, Ontario and three sisters-in-law Margaret Watts, Hazel Dearing and Doris Mitchell. Dad was welcomed to heaven by his Lord and Saviour, his beloved wife Nellie, his son Marshall and wife Cheryl, and son-in-law Delmore Bast, along with other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Donnie Watts to the Duchess Mennonite Church. The funeral service will be held at the Duchess Mennonite Church on Friday,June 2, 2006 at 2:00pm.
