Walters – Nancy Louise Walters of Brooks, beloved wife of Michael Walters, passed away in Brooks on Friday, May 11th, 2018 at the age of 51 years. Nancy was born in North Surrey, British Columbia on November 24th, 1966 to Alfred and Verna Myers. She married Michael Walters on March 15th, 1985 in Surrey and they resided there until 1986 when they moved to Hope , British Columbia. Nancy and Michael moved to Brooks in 2005. She worked for Lakeside Packers, Safeway, Tim Hortons, Walmart and in a Bakery. Nancy enjoyed cross-stitch, cooking, baking and decorating cakes and spending time with her family, especially her 3 grandchildren. She also entered her jams and other preserves in farmer’s markets and trade shows. Nancy was very skilled in mathematics and writing, she would often help her children with their school work and could always be counted on to know the proper spelling of any words. She will be fondly remembered for her incredible honesty, straight forward nature and keeping her family in line. Nancy was predeceased by an infant son Liam and parents Alfred and Verna Bourne. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Michael Walters; children, Ryan Walters, Luke (Celeste) Walters, Ned Walters, Sara (Will) Walters, Kevin (Lauren) Walters, Sophie Walters and Ethan Walters and 3 grandchildren. In memory of Nancy, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to either Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, 2888 Shaganappi Trail NW, Calgary, Alberta T3B 6A8 or Kidney Foundation of Canada – Alberta Branch, Box 20143, Kensington Post Office, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 8M4.
