Schultz – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend, Jason Lee Schultz, on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019 in Brooks, at the age of 46 years. Jason was born on September 13th, 1972 in Geraldton, Ontario to Dennis and Isabel Schultz. He resided in Calgary for the first 7 years of his life, then moved to Brooks in 1979 with his family. Jason received his schooling in Brooks and graduated in 1991. His passion was moto-cross racing and he was amazing at it, he started when he was 15 and he rode for 6 years and was at the top of the charts. Hazards with trying to be the best were the crashes and many broken bones, some he broke more than once! Most recently, Jason found a love in remote vehicles, not only racing them but fixing them as well. He was employed with Excalibur Drilling, until his accident in 1996. Doctors performed miracles just to keep him alive. After a long recovery, he tried to go back to the rigs, but it was just too hard on his broken body, he did some hot shot and other small jobs, but was not able to keep them due to his chronic pain. Jason will always be remembered as a fun loving, generous and caring guy that loved his family and friends with every ounce of his being. He was predeceased by his father Dennis Schultz in November, 2018. Jason is survived by his loving mom Isabel; sister Wanda; brother Darryl (Lori); nieces, Jacquelynn (Terry) and  Katie (Graham); nephew, Devon (Tamara); great nieces, Gracie, Brooklyn and Preslee; great nephews, Zachery, Tristan and Finley and many aunts, uncles, cousin and lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 21st at 11:00 AM from Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Internment will take place at a later date in Scapa, Alberta. In memory of Jason, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Box 2211, Lethbridge, Alberta   T1J 4K7.
