    McLEAN – Jerrold Stanley “Stan” McLean passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018, at the age of 65 years, beloved husband of Dianne McLean of Jenner. He also leaves to cherish his memory two children, Curtis McLean of Medicine Hat and Lynn (Nick) Carson of Stettler; two grandchildren, Reece Carson and Jaxon Carson; his mother, Joan McLean (nee: Fox); five brothers, Terry (Joy), Garry (Carla), Doug, Devon (Patty) and Mike (Sharon); one sister Cindy McLean (Ken) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Jack McLean. Stan was born on August 16, 1952 in Regina, Saskatchewan and was was raised in Milestone. He moved to Alberta in early 1970 after working in Ontario. Stan started working for Majestic Ranches at Buffalo, Alberta where he spent the next 18 years. In 1989, he moved his family briefly to Cavendish and in 1990, they moved to the Jenner area where he and his family have resided since. Stan started McLean Custom Fencing and Welding Ltd. which has been in operation for the last 29 years. Stan was an avid golfer and attended all the Canadian Cattle Golf Tournaments for the last 19 years. He was a regular member at the Duchess Golf and Country Club where over the years, had met many great friends. Wednesday was men’s night and was especially important to him. It was with these friends he and Dianne decided to start curling. They enjoyed the friendships they made and made lots of great memories at bonspiels. Stan also liked spending time at the lake camping, and could be often found heading to Blood Indian Park or Sheerness from the May long weekend to Thanksgiving. He could often been seen pulling his grandchildren behind his pontoon boat. Stan was so proud of his family and would light up when he ran into anyone and was able to talk about hischildren and grandchildren. Stan was known by many for his gentle spirt and was always a gentleman. The funeral service was held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Shane P. Andrus officiating. A private family interment followed in the Hillside Cemetery.
