LEVEQUE – Muriel Louise Leveque (Desjarlais) of Brooks, AB., passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the age of 88 years in Brooks. Born in Wayne, AB. on August 3, 1929 to Phil (Snakebite) Desjarlais and Zilda (Maria) Desjarlais (Dumont). Muriel married Russell Leveque on Nov. 3, 1950. They were married for 65 years until Dad’s passing in 2016. Mom grew up and went to school in Wayne, AB. after marrying they lived in Calgary, Edmonton, Germany and finally moving to Brooks in 1977 and settled in the Cassils area. While over the course of Mom’s life she worked and ran many drycleaners. Mom took great pride in her work and was an immaculate homemaker. Mom had a great love for country music which you could often hear her singing at work, home or in the car. Dad had a cute little pet name for Mom which was Flower. She was very fond of that. Muriel was predeceased by husband Russell, daughter Roma and son Albert. Muriel is survived by her loving family Leonard and his wife Terri of Beamont, Phil Leveque of Brooks, Roger Leveque of Naramata, BC and Toni Creasy; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral mass was held on Fri., March 16 at St. Mary’s Church in Brooks. Rev. Raul Hernandez celebrant. Interment will be in July at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Calgary. At this time there will be a celebration of life where her’s and Dad’s ashes will be placed together beside son Bert’s ashes and daughter Roman’s ashes as well.
