    Langevin – Elsie Lydia Langevin (nee Scherer) of Brooks, beloved wife of Edward Langevin, passed away in Brooks on Monday, June 25th, 2018 at the age of 81 years, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Elsie was born in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan on December 13th, 1936 to Emmanuel and Christine Scherer. She met the life of her love (Elsie’s words), Eddie Langevin in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan in 1954. Elsie and Ed married April 27th, 1955 in the town where they met. They moved throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta following the rigs. Their seven children were born along the way in Estevan, Calgary, Taber, Stettler and Brooks. Elsie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ed Langevin; children, Sandra, Kenneth, Karen, Cheryl, Michael, Linda and Rene; son-in-law Marvin, sister Gladys and brother Norman, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 29th at 1:00 PM from Royal Canadian Legion, Brooks Branch with a luncheon to follow. Rev. Ken Wells officiating. Honourary pallbearers are all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. In memory of Elsie, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Brooks Food Bank Foundation, Box 293, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B3.
