    Kemp – Robert “Bud” John Kemp. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Bud on Wednesday, May 1st, 2018, with his family at his side, at the age of 83 years. Bud was born in Jasper, Alberta on December 1st, 1934, where he received his schooling and started his pipeline career working on the Trans Mountain Pipeline. In 1955, he married Shirley Hudson and started raising a family of 4 children. He moved the family to Brooks in 1961 to work for Alberta Gas Pipeline, which later changed to Nova, and he continued to work with them until he retired in 1993. Bud belonged to the Elks Club and the Free Masons of Brooks. He made many friends throughout the years curling and golfing, but most of all he enjoyed his A&W coffee buddies. Bud was predeceased by his parents Robert and Nancy, brother Edgar and grandson Maxwell. He is survived by his wife Shirley of 63 years; his children Gerry (Glenda) Kemp of Calgary, AB., Pat (Randy) Johnson of Chestermere, AB., Ken (Deanna) Kemp of Cochrane, AB. and Kathie (Tony) Patey of Chestermere; his sister Jean of Sherwood Park, AB.; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 5th, at 2:00 PM from the Brooks United Church. Rev. Esther Baerends officiated. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery. In memory of Bud, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to either Brooks and District Health Foundation for Long Term Care, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B3 or Prostate Cancer Centre, 6500, 7007 – 14th Street S.W., Calgary, Alberta   T2V 1P9.
