    JERSAK – Mary Cecilia Jersak of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Joseph Adams and Albert Jersak, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Mary was born in Edmonton on February 27th, 1930 to James and Maggie Swain. She received her education in Calgary. Mary married Joseph Adams and resided in Sundre for a time and then settled in Brooks. Joseph passed away in 1990, and she was remarried to Albert Jersak. Mary worked as a cook at the truck stop on the highway outside Brooks and later as a custodian at a number of schools in the area. The most important job of all for Mary, was that of mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed drawing, crocheting and needlework. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren. Mary would say “she chose to have a large family because growing up she did not have much family.” Her family and friends will fondly remember her for her cooking, baking, gardening and beautiful blankets she hand made. Mary was predeceased by her husbands, Joe Adams and Albert Jersak; stepdaughter, Jo-Anne Ensminger; daughter Linda Gold (Adams) and great granddaughter Katherine Faye Ditto. She is survived by her children, Gaylene Thompson and her husband Robert, Wayne Adams and his wife Tammy, Bruce Adams and his wife Susan, Dale Adams and his wife Josie and Hazel Jensen and her husband Raymond and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other family and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 17th at 10:00 AM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ken Wells officiated. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery. In memory of Mary, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to charity of choice.
