GOSTOLA – Lucas Eugene Gostola of Duchess, Alberta passed away Dec. 18, 2017 at the too young age of 20 years. Lucas was born April 13, 1997 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. With great sadness he leaves his twin sister, Amy, older brothers Jesse and Stephen, father Dan and mother Shirley behind. Lucas will be greatly missed by maternal grandmother Audrey Stephens, residing in Fort Qu’Appelle, Sk., and many uncles, aunts and cousins from various parts of Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Australia… who have many fond and humorous memories of him. Lucas and family lived in Saskatoon until he was 8 years old then moved to Duchess, Alberta. This small village is a community full of warm and caring people that was perfect for a growing family. Lucas not only made lots of friends but was also considered part of the family to many. Construction and mechanics were his favorite classes in high school; going to the 2015 provincial skills Canada competition and winning the ‘safety award’ for outdoor power and recreation equipment was a proud moment for the family. Working as a mechanics helper at Smith Trucking was an enjoyable learning experience. Afterwards, he worked for Savannah oil field as a deckhand and learned a new lifestyle that he often talked about. To know Lucas was to dearly love him. He truly lived in the moment. He had such a love for discovery, experiencing, understanding, and rejoicing in life. One of Lucas’ best accomplishments was being who he was, a mischievous, kind-hearted, funny guy who was always able to lighten the mood wherever he went. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on January 27th at the Duchess Hall with Pastor John Theiss officiating.
