    Catherine Alice Ferris
    March 23, 1947- October 6, 2018

Catherine Alice (nee Dales) Hudec Ferris passed away peacefully in Brooks, Alberta on Saturday October 6, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Cathy will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Bruce Ferris, of Rolling Hills, and her daughters, Natalie (Danique Mollink) Hudec of Holland, Stephanie (Jesse) Tousignant of Windsor, and Jennifer (Mark) Stables of Okotoks. She also leaves behind her five grandsons, James, Kade, Myles, Kohen, and Eli; her brothers, David (Halina) Dales and Brian (Cheryl) Hallman; Bruce’s sons, Corey, Sean (Marcey), and Dustin (Nadine); their children, Dominique, Nicole, Keenan, and Madison; as well as her nieces and nephews, Lorraine, Michael, Ashley, Cathy, Kamille, Christopher, Bethany, Finleigh, and Lucy.

Cathy was born in Toronto Ontario on March 23, 1947. She attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo where she met her first husband, Miroslav (Mike) Hudec. In 1981 they moved to Alberta, living in the northern community of Desmarais, followed by Burdett, and then Bow Island, where they resided until 1996. She lived in Medicine Hat for several years and in August of 2000, Cathy wed Bruce Ferris of Rolling Hills and had lived there since.

Cathy had the remarkable ability to see beauty in everything around her, and to find joy in every situation. She was loving and kind to everyone she met. She was a talented artist and enjoyed watercolour painting, photography, and writing. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She cherished every moment she had to play with her grandchildren or travel to visit her daughters. Cathy was at peace in the Rocky Mountains and the lakes of Ontario. Her adventurous spirit took her on trips across Canada and to Europe.

Central to Cathy’s life was her faith in God. While we mourn her passing, we cannot help but rejoice, for we know she is now resting peacefully in God’s loving arms. She will be welcomed into heaven by her parents, Clarence and Helen, her grand niece, Rudy, her first husband, Mike, and her beloved pets, Karen and Sammy.

A funeral was held for Cathy at the Rolling Hills Community Hall on Friday, October 12 at 2pm. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Cathy’s name may be made directly to the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre in Medicine Hat.
