COCHRAN – Carleen Mabel Ann Cochran

    Cochran – Carleen Mabel Ann Cochran of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Roland Cochran, passed away peacefully in Brooks, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018 at the age of 72 years. She was born in Oliver, British Columbia on February 9th, 1945 to Leonard and Mabel Olson. Carleen married Ron Cochran on October 12th, 1968 in Grand Forks, British Columbia. She attended secretarial school as well as hairdressing school. Carleen worked at various jobs around Brooks, the last being Home Hardware, where she enjoyed visiting with customers and mixing paint. She was quite active in her spare time, with many interests including calligraphy, crocheting, hairdressing, crafts, dancing and cross-stitching. Carleen was also a Brownie Leader, Brown Owl and a member of both the Order of the Royal Purple and Eastern Star. Her family will fondly remember her for her cross-stitching, love of everything to do with hummingbirds and the hundreds of flowers she would plant each spring, with some help with her friends. Carleen was predeceased by her loving husband Ron, sister Jane van de Werve and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Alva Lee and her husband Alan; grandchildren, Abbey, Lachlan , Dryden and Declan and numerous other family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 16th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will take place in Grand Forks at a later date. Cremation is entrusted to Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematorium, Brooks.
