    Christman – Roseleen Christman of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Ruben Christman, passed away peacefully at the South Health Campus in Calgary, with her family be her side, on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 at the age of 85 years. Rose was born in Hatton, Saskatchewan on June 5th, 1932 to Peter and Emma Neigel and grew up on the family farm. She later married Ruben Christman on February 23rd, 1950. They farmed in various places before settling in Brooks, in 1961. She was a homemaker for many years and worked at the Starlight Restaurant and at Brooks News and Tobacco Store, which she and Ruben owned. Rose loved gardening and canning vegetables and fruits to share with family and friends. She loved and was very proud of her flowers and grew all her flowers and plants over the winter in the basement. Rose really loved playing card games with her family and friends. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose loved to bake cookies, cakes and pies for all her family and loved to cook for family functions. She was always willing to help anyone in any way she could and enjoyed doing so. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband Ruben Christman, parents Peter and Emma Neigel, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by children, Garry Christman and Deb Vessey (Grant); six grandchildren, Monica (Marty), Jennifer (Will), Lorna, Sherri (Jon), Kevin, CJ (Sarah); nine great grandchildren, Reece, Kade, Josie, Harrison, Lincoln, Steven, Shelby, Kiana and Braxton; four sisters, two brothers and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the hospital staff for their care, compassion and support during this difficult time. Visitation and prayer services will be held on Friday, May 11th at 7:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Prayer services will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 2:00 PM from Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev John Theiss officiating. Interment to follow at the Brooks Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall at the Trinity Lutheran Church. In memory of Rose, if friends desire, memorial tributes be made to STARS, Suite 100, 1519 – 35th Avenue East, Edmonton International Airport T9E 0V6.
