BROSSARD – Camille Joseph Maurice Brossard of Tilley passed away at Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary on July 19, 2018 at the age of 66. Born at Longueuil, Quebec, Camille entered the Canadian Military at age 18 and
was in Regular Force from 1969-1987. He served at the military base off St-Jean, Quebec, Valcartier, Quebec and then to Nova Scotia where he met the love of his life Linda, and married Linda in the fall of 1987. He was transferred to the Reserve Force by request in 1988 and became certified as a Journeyman Cook that same year. In 1995, at age 55 he retired from the Military and moved to Tilley, where he spent 8 years (1996-2004) as the Village Foreman and also was employed with Sandsource for several years. Camille very much enjoyed cooking and he and Linda returned to their profession and took employment in the cafeteria at CFB Suffield, Alberta. Camille was very athletic and was a proficient swimmer and diver, his family fondly remembers him making spectacular flips in the family pool. Camille loved sports cars, had a passion for unique travel, and the Tilley locals were amazed to see this
mysterious newcomer often travelling the streets of town on his unicycle. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and if a barbeque was handy he enjoyed a meal of ribs with chicken and a beer.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on August 12 at EID Legion in Brooks. In memory of Camille, if family or friend’s desire, Memorial Tributes may be made to Alberta Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
