    Aebly – Edwin (Ed) Charles Aebly of Jenner passed away in Brooks on Thursday, November 4th, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Born in Alderson, Alberta on August 30th, 1914 Ed received his schooling at the Riverbend School southeast of Jenner. He worked on the family farm until joining the army, fought overseas and returned home in 1945. Upon his return he married Ethel Davis and they raised 3 children. Ed worked a few odd jobs before returning to the farm where he resided until 1976. After leaving farming Ed took a job as the Jenner Ferry Operator until a bridge went over the Red Deer River ending the need for a ferry. Ed later left Jenner, due to failing health, and his last years were spent at the Brooks Long Term Care. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel, parents, brothers Ernie, Ray, Dan and a sister Florence. Ed is survived by his loving family, children Marg (Wayne), Bill (Marcia) and Eileen (Murray); grandchildren Raymond (Mindy), Spike (Crystal) and Kimberly; brother Alvin (Julie); sister Aletha and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 9th from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Edmonds officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Ed’s family and friends. Active Pallbearers were Gene Aebly, Don Musgrove, Gordon Musgrove, Randy Pierson, Layton Fulton and Doug Andrus.
